Ojai residents and businesses can support OPC by providing the following:
PRIVATE HOUSING: Share a spare a bed & bath, guest house, or vacation rental in Ojai for our artists and staff during the two weeks of the 2024 Conference/Festival, in late July - early August. We make it easy; attendees are away all day and OPC provides all meals and transportation. Simply provide housing and a warm welcome!
HOTEL ROOMS: Provide discounted/donated hotel rooms for out-of-town attendees and guest artists.
HOSTED MEALS: Host a meal at your homes for playwrights and artistic teams during Conference week.
HOSTED RECEPTIONS: Host a reception/small event during Festival week.
In appreciation for your hospitality, you will receive special access to the Festival events and readings.
Dr. Kerry English Artist Award
Established in 2020 in honor of OPC board member and theatre enthusiast Dr. Kerry English who passed away in April 2020, this award is sponsored by English’s widow, Olga Garay-English.
The goal of the award is to actively support playwrights who are committed to giving voice to diverse and under-served communities, bringing awareness and activism to the burning social, cultural, and political issues of the day, and promoting humanitarian values.
$7,500/year will go to a playwright whose play is selected to be part of OPC’s annual play development program, allowing them to enhance their workshop experience and sustain their career after Ojai; $7,500/year will support the workshop process for the play.
